Italians normally spent their annual leave and holidays to the beach. I’m not a big fan of the beach and that is why I spent most of my spare time during my youth travelling around Europe (Austria, Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, France and so on). I love travelling, it’s the best way we could spend our time (and money), it enlarges our vision, it makes us a better person.
That is why Wanderlust catch my attention when I see it on GoG, a text-based game about travelling in real places. I’ve played it for a couple of hours and my first impressions are good, but let’s talk about what is Wanderlust.
Wanderlust is a text adventure about travellers and it plays around four different novels and five stories, during the game we will take care of the level of stress and fatigue that will change constantly depending on our decisions (will I travel by Train or Bus? Should I bring with me a charger for my cellphone?).
What I will carry during my journey will have a great impact on the way that I will enjoy it, I could read a book waiting for my next train, listen to some music while enjoying the ride on the bus.
The aforementioned stress and fatigue level will impact our journey, the combination of them will decide our state (sad, hopeless, cheerful etc..). This will change the way we’ll see the world and our whole experience.
The immersion is great thanks to the photos, related to the city or place we are visiting, that will accompany us during our experience.
Background music and sounds are another plus points of the entire experience perfectly fitting the locations and the mood of the moment we are living during our journey.
If you like reading, travelling, slow gaming, if you are in a relaxing mood, this is one of the best and most interesting game you can experience in recent days.
